MediQuest's management team is comprised of industry veterans who have successfully developed drugs and created successful venture-backed companies in the past.

Frederick J. Dechow, Ph.D. has served as our President, Chief Executive Officer and Director since 2002. From 2001 to 2002, Dr. Dechow served as the President & CEO of PrimeCyte, a biopharmaceutical company developing cancer therapies. From 1996 to 2001, he served as the President & CEO of Gem Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company developing cancer and autoimmune disease treatments. From 1995 to 1996, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for International Medical Innovations, Inc., a pharmaceutical development and commercialization company. From 1990 to 1994 he served as the President and CEO of BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, and from 1988 to 1989, Dr. Dechow served as the Vice President of Research and Development at Reed & Carnrick, a pharmaceutical company. In addition to these senior leadership positions within the biopharmaceutical industry, Dr. Dechow has significant laboratory and commercial experience, both at Dow Chemical and CIBA-Geigy Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Dechow received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Hawaii and his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Iowa State University. He also participated in the MBA. program for international operations at Ohio State University.

Hans M. Lundin, MBA, serves as our Chief Financial Officer.  He has ten years of experience in life science venture capital and fifteen years experience in finance and project management.  Since 1998, Mr. Lundin has been involved in over 50 venture capital rounds of 19 companies.  He is a managing partner of Integra Ventures (a life science venture capital fund based in Seattle).  Hans coordinates all of Integra's regulatory compliance, audits, tax work, distributions, and limited partner administrative matters.  He also currently serves on the boards for Clear Medical, Inc. (Chair) and Wellpartner, Inc.  Mr. Lundin has also served as the Interim-CFO for SmartForest Ventures which is an information technology venture fund based in Portland, Oregon.  From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Lundin was an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard and held various positions involving personnel and multimillion-dollar project management.  Mr. Lundin's education includes a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management (high honors) from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Thomas P. Dooley, Ph.D. has served as our Chief Scientific Officer since 2004, when the firm acquired IntegriDerm, a dermatology research company of which he was the Founder and CEO from 1998 to 2004. He also founded ALtruis, an Internet healthcare firm. From 1995 to 1998, he held an endowed Chair and was Director of Molecular Pharmacology at the Southern Research Institute, and was an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. From 1991 to 1995, he was a research scientist at the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research and an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. From 1988 to 1991, Dr. Dooley was a research scientist with the Upjohn Company, a global pharmaceutical firm where he was involved in investigations of the hair growth stimulant Minoxidil/Rogaine and other dermatology and oncology agents. He has authored 64 scientific articles and numerous patents, and he has also been the recipient of many professional awards. Dr. Dooley was the Co-Founder and original presiding officer of the Biotechnology Association of Alabama. Dr. Dooley received his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Indiana University and was a prestigious Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London, England.

Jeffrey Gregory, M.D., MBA has served as our Chief Medical Officer since 2006. From 2005 to 2006, he performed due diligence on behalf of the venture capital firms Frazier Healthcare Ventures and Integra Ventures, as he completed his MBA. at the University of Washington. From 1997 to 2004, Dr. Gregory practiced ophthalmology. Dr. Gregory received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed his residency at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Gregory also holds a B.S. in biological engineering from Mississippi State University.

Carol H. Danielson, Ph.D. has served has our Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs since 2002. From 2000 to 2001, she served as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for North America at Colgate Palmolive Oral Health Division. From 1993 to 1999, she served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals. From 1991 to 1993, she served as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at IMRE Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company. She joined ALZA Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company focused on drug delivery technologies, in 1977, and by 1991, she rose to Director of Regulatory Compliance and Director of Quality Assurance. Dr. Danielson received her B.A. from the University of Delaware, a B.S. in biology from Samford University, and her Ph.D. in public health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has been a faculty member and frequent lecturer for the IND and NDA training courses conducted by the Drug Information Association.

T. Tyler Ellison, MBA has served as our Vice President of Market Development since 2003. From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Ellison was the Director of Business Analysis and Information at Amgen after the Amgen-Immunex merger. From 1994 to 2002, he was head of marketing research at Immunex Corp., a biotechnology company, and was part of the team that launched Embrel. From 1974 to 1994, he worked for Burroughs-Wellcome, a pharmaceutical company, in progressively more senior roles within the company, including managing the marketing research department for the Professional Products Division, launching such major brands as Wellbutrin, Retrovir, Tracium, Valtrex and Zovirax. Mr. Ellison received a B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Hawaii and an MBA. in Marketing from Chaminade University.
